Frank Topping is a Methodist minister, actor and author. He began his career in repertory theatre. He is perhaps best known for his Pause for Thought broadcasts on BBC Radio 2’s Terry Wogan Show for thirty years.
His West End partnership with Donald Swann led to several television series. He has provided a variety of characters for radio including a production of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and all the voices for Pilgrims Progress. He has appeared on Coronation Street and, with his wife, June toured with various productions for 20 years. He is the author of numerous books of meditations, prayers and several plays. He is currently working on a new book.
Anne Topping (Mark’s sister) studied Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College. She has directed: Fairground, a multimedia piece with 85 young people at the Royal Albert Hall; Che Guevara at the King’s Theatre in Gloucester and numerous school and community productions. Anne has worked in learning and development for 25 years, 15 years for the Methodist Connexion. She now works as a freelance in consultancy in learning and development and photography.
